Celebrating Elevage Sauvignon Blanc

In April, we received some absolutely wonderful news! Firstly, that our Cellar Door had been awarded The Star Cellar Door in the Geographe Wine Region for 2020 by Gourmet Traveller Wine, plus, our 2017 Elevage Sauvignon received a 93 point rating from Huon Hooke in the same Gourmet Traveller Wine magazine for April/May.

‘Cathy Howard has produced another sophisticated style of savvy that really captivates. Light-mid straw-yellow colour, and nutty, toasty, barrel fermented bouquet. An amalgam of spice, nut, citrus and tropical fruit characters on the palate, all mingling neatly’

So to celebrate both our wine, and our award winning Cellar Door and Wine Sensory Garden tasting experience, I have fished out (pardon the bad pun!) one of my tried and true recipes that matches beautifully with our wine star Elevage Sauvignon Blanc, and found another recipe which I haven’t tried yet, but looks pretty damn tasty. The first is a recipe by Donna Hay, which I have tried, and really is simple make and yet is oh so tasty. The key to it matching the dish with our wine is the capers, lemon zest, parmesan and butter. The other recipe is by Matt Moran, which looks really good, but I haven’t tried yet.
