We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a 5 Star Winery rating again in this year’s 2016 James Halliday Australian Wine Companion. The awards and wine ratings were announced yesterday, on July 29th.
Of the 5 wines that we submitted for this year’s tastings, 3 were awarded scores of 95 and 96 points. These wines are our 2013 Riesling, our 2013 Sauvignon Blanc and our 2011 Elevation Cabernet, with our Elevation being the wine which achieved the 96 point score (Equivalent to a Gold Medal).
The awarding of our Elevation Cabernet with 96 points is especially exciting as this wine is our flagship, and one that we believe is getting better and better with each vintage as the vines are maturing.
This 5 Star Winery Rating in the 2016 Edition of the Australian Wine Companion follows hot on the heels of Whicher Ridge Wines achieving a 5 Star Winery rating for the first time in 2015, combined with the honour of being selected as one of the ten Dark Horse Wineries in 2015.
We will be spending the next few weeks celebrating our 5 Star Rating, and sharing our award winning wines with friends and family, with our Alto Wine Club members, with our Mailing List members, and with visitors to our Cellar Door.
A 5 Star winery rating, along with wine score so of 95 and 96 points is a very special achievement for a small artisan producer!
